The Production Process of Extruding Tube
The production process of extruding tube is slightly different from the production process of hot rolling tube and cold drawn (rolled) tubes. The main difference lies in that the metal structure of the extruded tube is changed by pressing various shaped dies through the die head.
1. Tube extrusion is firstly a process of metal forming. In this process, the material is heated and softened to a certain temperature, then placed into an extrusion die having an inner shape corresponding to the desired outer shape of the product. The die is passed through the extruder, which produces the tube of the required shape.
2. The extruded tube is then cut according to the required length, cut into slices, and then subjected to further processing such as cold rolling, hot forging, threading, welding, etc.
3. Heat treatment process. During the heat treatment process, it should be ensured that the tube achieves a good surface hardness and the appropriate heat treatment limit value. Meanwhile, it is also necessary to ensure that the heat treatment does not cause the structural properties and precision of the product to be affected.
4. After completing the heat treatment process, all tubes that have finished the heat treatment process shall pass the dimensional accuracy inspection in order to ensure that all products meet the required dimensional accuracy requirements.
5. The polished process. The appearance of the tubes produced by extrusion is usually uneven and usually has recessed concave portions, so the polishing process has very important significance for ensuring the quality of the products. During the polishing process, the surfaces of the tube should be smooth and coated in order to reduce the possibility of oil pollution.
6. The final inspection process of the extruded tubes must also be conducted. A comprehensive inspection is conducted on various aspects such as the body shape, outer diameter size, wall thickness of the tube, surface roughness and surface straightness of the tubes.
These are the production processes for extruding tubes. This procedure must be performed accurately and in strict accordance with the requirements and standards in order to ensure the production of a high-quality and reliable product.
