S32161 austenitic stainless steel (1Cr18Ni11Ti) is a kind of austenitic stainless steel that has good performance. Its mechanical properties are excellent, including high strength, high resistance to corrosion and fatigue, low thermal expansion and good weldability.
The high strength of S32161 austenitic stainless steel is obtained by cold working, and its strength can reach much higher than that of other stainless steel series. It has strong resistance to various general corrosive mediums. And it also has excellent resistant to stress corrosion, pitting corrosion and intergranular corrosion. It can be affected by some thermal treatments and remain relatively stable in cold working states. Its resistance to stress corrosion can be improved by increasing the amount of Ni and Cr content in solid solution state.
The impact toughness of S32161 austenitic stainless steel is good, it also has excellent ductility characteristics. Its plasticity and elongation are above 60%, which is much higher than the average austenitic stainless steel. This type of stainless steel is resistant to heat, and the temperature resistance is above 600°C.
S32161 austenitic stainless steel can be welded by manual arc welding with OK electrode, automated welding, and argon arc welding with matching flux core wire. The welding joint of this steel should be preheated before welding, and the post-welding heat treatment is recommended after welding.
The thermal expansion coefficient of S32161 austenitic stainless steel is small, which is good for maintaining its strength in hot working states. It also shows excellent thermal conductivity and high electrical resistivity.
Compared with other austenitic stainless steels, S32161 austenitic stainless steel has excellent performance.
