AISI 420 stainless steel (1Cr13) has a China GB (GB/T 1220-2007) and USA ASTM (ASTM A276-2006) designation of 1Cr13, and is usually supplied in the annealed (softened) condition with a maximum hardness of 287HB (Rockwell Hardness). AISI 420 stainless steel (1Cr13) is commonly used to manufacture gear parts and valves with good corrosion resistance and decent wear resistance, and is often found in use in knife blades and medical instruments.

AISI 420 stainless steel (1Cr13) has a normal tensile strength of 480-650 MPa, with a yield strength of 235-310 MPa and an elongation of 13%.
