IDEPA mode

INTRODUCTION

IDEPA is an acronym for Input, Decision, Evaluation, and Performance Assessment. IDEPA is a decision-making model that is useful for problem solving, project management, and organizational decision making. INPUT

The Input stage is the process of gathering data and assessing the situation. DECISION

During the Decision stage, the available data is used to identify the best solution to the problem or the most effective course of action. EVALUATION

The Evaluation stage is the process of assessing the potential solutions developed in the Decision stage. The evaluation process should also identify potential dangers, risks and unintended consequences of any proposed solution and analyze the financial, social, political, and environmental implications of any course of action.

PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT

The Performance Assessment stage is the process of selecting the best solution or course of action. The optimal choice should take into account all criteria and constraints defined in the Input stage and the evaluation results from the Evaluation stage. This can involve a cost/benefit analysis or a prediction of the short-term and long-term effects of a decision on the organization or group.
