GB/T12770-2002 Mechanical Structural Stainless Steel Welded Pipe

This national standard GB/T12770-2002 Mechanical Structural Stainless Steel Welded Pipe is presented by the Standardization Administration of the PRC and the China Metallurgical Industry Association.

This standard supersedes the GB/T12770-1991 mechanical structural stainless steel welded pipe. Compared with the old standard, the main technical changes are that the requirements are put on the pipeline core and the surface, and the mechanical performance indexes are more detailed and perfect.

This standard specifies the size, shape, weight and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marks, packaging, transportation and storage of mechanical structural stainless steel welded pipes. This standard is applicable to the mechanical structural stainless steel welded pipes whose nominal outer diameter is not more than 114 mm and whose wall thickness is not more than 6 mm.

This national standard refers to the use of relevant national standards and ISO standards. This national standard and the norms of relevant national standards and ISO should be consistent.

The products tested and manufactured by this standard should be in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Peoples Republic of China for measuring and regulating the production process.

GB/T12770-2002 “Stainless Steel Welded pipes for Mechanical Structures” is a national standard for recommending economic choices for production and procurement of stainless steel welded pipes for mechanical structures. It is used to replace the original GB/T12770-1991.

This standard is applicable to stainless steel welded pipes for mechanical structures with an outer diameter not exceeding 606.4mm. The materials stipulated in the standard include three austenitic stainless steel materials and three duplex stainless steel materials. The three austenitic materials are 0Cr18Ni9(00Cr19Ni10), 00Cr17Ni14Mo2, 0Cr17Ni12Mo2. The three duplex materials are N02201, N0.4462, N0.4410.

This standard stipulates the requirements for the technical conditions of stainless steel welded pipes, the acceptance of test commission, the appearance inspection, the flattening test, the hydraulic pressure test, the tensile test, the characterization of mechanical properties, the chemical analysis, the non-destructive testing and the microstructure test of the welded joints, etc.

In conclusion, GB/T12770-2002 “Stainless Steel Welded pipes for Mechanical Structures” provides the technical specifications for the design, manufacture, testing and inspection of stainless steel welded pipes for mechanical structures and serves as a reference for the related fields.
