Introduction

SUS 0Cr15Ni5Cu3Nb(15-5PH)is a precipitation-hardened stainless steel with improved resistance to wear, galling and corrosion, in the high-temperature environment. It is widely used in applications requiring high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. This stainless steel is characterized by its high strength, high hardness, excellent thermal stability and good fatigue resistance at room temperature. In order to gain a better understanding of this material, its mechanical properties at room temperature must be studied.

Mechanical Properties

At room temperature, the mechanical properties of SUS 0Cr15Ni5Cu3Nb(15-5PH)are primarily influenced by its composition, namely its carbon and chromium content. The higher the carbon and chromium content, the stronger and harder the material is. The tensile strength of SUS 0Cr15Ni5Cu3Nb(15-5PH)is typically in the range of 730-910MPa, with an elongation of 10-14%. The yield strength is usually in the range of 0.2-0.3%.

The hardness of SUS 0Cr15Ni5Cu3Nb(15-5PH)at room temperature is typically in the range of 34-38 HRC. This provides the material with excellent resistance to wear, galling and corrosion. The fatigue strength of the material is also quite high, as it is able to withstand stresses up to 1,200MPa without failing.
