Introduction

Chemical Composition
Cr18Ni12 steel(AISI305) contains 18.00-20.00% C, 11.50-13.00% Cr and 8.00-11.00% Ni. AISI 305 also contains 0.06-0.12% P, 0.10-0.75% Ni, 0.20%-0.50% Si and 0.03% S.
Mechanical Properties
The mechanical properties of Cr18Ni12 steel (AISI305) mainly include tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and hardness. The tensile strength of the steel is 660MPa and the yield strength is 480MPa. The elongation of the steel is 40%. Its hardness is not lower than that of the same grade Cr18Ni9 steel (AISI304).
Heat Treatment
The heat treatment of Cr18Ni12 steel (AISI305) is mainly solid solution treatment, which is also solution treatment. During the heat treatment of AISI305, the temperature should be controlled above 1080℃ for 316 hours, and then cooled to about 620℃ in a furnace, and finally air cooled.
