Cold heading and cold extrusion steels - Delivery conditions for stainless steels
1 Scope
This standard applies to unalloyed and alloyed stainless steels of the following steel numbers: 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10), 1.4311 (X2CrNiN 18-7), 1.4541 (X6CrNiTi18-10), 1.4550 (X6CrNiNb18-10), 1.4571 (X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2), 1.4401 (X5CrNiMo17-12-2), 1.4435 (X2CrNiMo17-12-2). Standard or special steel quality for cold working according to DIN2625-1, DIN2625-2, DIN2626-1, DIN2626-2 and DIN17671, respectively.
2 Steel supply
Deliverable steels must be supplied in the delivery condition supplied. The delivery conditions are according to DIN2625-1, DIN2625-2, DIN2626-1, DIN2626-2 and DIN17671, respectively, for standard or special steels for cold working. Correspondingly, a corresponding standard product according to the respective applicable delivery condition is allowed. If a specified delivery condition is not available, it must be given in an appropriate manner.
3 Definition
3.1 Steel Grade
The steels shall be classified in accordance with the standard quality and shall be given by means of the steel number referred to in clause 1 for the following conditions:
- unalloyed or alloyed stainless steel
- delivery condition in accordance with DIN 2625-1/A, DIN 2625-2/A, DIN 2626-1/A, DIN 2626-2/A and DIN 17671/A, respectively
3.2 Delivery conditions
The delivery conditions are dependent on the steel quality according to DIN 2625-1, DIN 2625-2, DIN 2626-1, DIN 2626-2 and DIN 17671; corresponding to the following:
- Standard steels of cold working (for example, tensile strength and drawability)
- Special steels of cold working (for example, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, drawability, surface roughness as well as other characteristics applicable to the respective standards)
3.3 Range of Supply
The range of supply for the delivery condition concerns the delivery of products and the shape of the products (for example, the height) for which the delivery conditions are applicable.
4 Requirements
4.1 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of the supplied steel must meet the requirements of the respective delivery condition.
4.2 Mechanical properties
The mechanical properties of the supplied steel must meet the requirements of the respective delivery condition.
4.3 Standard tolerances
The standard tolerances for the cold deformation of the supplied steel must comply with the applicable delivery condition.
4.4 Delivery of products
The products must be produced, subjected to the agreed tests and marked in accordance with the applicable delivery conditions.
5 Marking
During delivery, the manufacturer must comply with the applicable marking regulations.
6 Material Test Certificate
Material test certificates must be issued in accordance with the applicable delivery condition.
7 Tests
In accordance with the respective delivery condition, tests must be carried out on the supplied steel before being delivered.
8 Formal verification
The manufacturer must carry out sample tests in accordance with the applicable delivery condition.
9 Document Delivery
The manufacturer must deliver the appropriate documents in accordance with the applicable delivery condition.
10 Compliance
The manufacturer is not permitted to exceed the limits of the applicable delivery condition.
