Introduction
Custom 450 (UNS S45000) is a heat-treatable martensitic age hardenable stainless steel developed mainly for use in components with exceptional corrosion resistance and high strength. It is a slightly modified version of Grade 440C, containing 0.15% carbon, 6%Nickel, 1.6%Molybdenum and 0.3 Manganese and Cu. This steel is known for its uniform structure, wear resistance, and outstanding corrosion resistance. It is often utilized in aircraft components, gas turbines, fasteners and compressor blades.
