The chemical composition of 5CrMnMo Alloy Tool Steel is as follows: Carbon (C) 0.45-0.55, Silicon (Si) ≤0.40, Manganese (Mn) 0.60-0.90, Chromium (Cr) 0.80-1.20, Molybdenum (Mo) 0.20-0.30, Phosphorus (P) ≤0.030, Sulphur (S) ≤0.030.

The mechanical properties of 5CrMnMo Tool Steel are as follows: Through the proper heat treatment and cooling process, the steel has a capacity of containing a maximum HRC58 hardness, a tensile strength of 800-1000MPa, yield strength 800-1000MPa, elongation of 11-14%, and impact value of 37J.

5CrMnMo Alloy Tool Steel is characterized by higher hardness than other alloy steels, good abrasion resistance, good heat treatment machinery performance, higher quenching degree, slightly lower toughness than Cr5Mo1V steel and good plastic performance. It is mainly used for punching and pressing molds, molds for alloy cables, and cold stripping rolls.
