Welded Steel Pipe
Welded steel pipe, also known as welded pipe, is a steel pipe made of steel plates or strip steels, which are welded together after being crimped. The welded steel pipe has simple production process, high production efficiency, many varieties and specifications, and low equipment investment, but its general strength is lower than that of seamless steel pipe.
Welded steel pipes can be divided into three categories according to their purposes: general welded pipe, galvanized welded pipe and oxygen welding pipe. General welded pipe is also known as gun-pipe or black-gun pipe. Galvanized welded pipe is divided into hot dip galvanizing, electrical galvanizing and cold galvanizing according to different processing technology, which characterized by its outer surface zinc metal, can decrease the disadvantage of metal material such entropic and fragile, and improve metal corrosion resistance, keep metal surface with good appearance, serve to extend metal service life.
Oxygen welded pipe also named oxygen welding steel pipe, which adopt oxygen fuel gas and use self-release metal-inert gas protection when welding. This oxygen welding pipe obtain high welding quality, low welding cost, stable welding process and reducing welding waste.
Types of welded steel pipe
1. Longitudinal welded steel pipe: Longitudinal welded steel pipe is also known as HFW steel pipe, which is produced by welding strips of hot-rolled steel coil. It has the advantages of uniform wall thickness and high dimensional accuracy. It is often used for mining, construction, and also pipe equipment.
2. Spiral welded steel pipe: Spiral welded steel pipe is a spiral seam steel pipe made of strip steel coils, which is often extruded and then welded. The production process of spiral steel pipe on the whole is simple, and its production efficiency is high, but its strength is generally lower than that of straight welded pipe.
3. ERW welded steel pipe: ERW welded steel pipe, also known as electric resistance welded steel pipe, is made of hot-rolled coil rolled into tube blank, roll forming, and then is welded by using electric resistance welding. Small diameter welded pipe can also be made in the same production line with the use of strip coils as raw materials.
4. Galvanized welded steel pipe: Galvanized welded steel pipe, commonly known as white steel pipe, is the most widely used galvanized product, widely used in machinery manufacturing, construction, metallurgical industry, agricultural vehicle and many other industries.
Conclusion
Welded steel pipe is widely used in many fields because of its low cost, short production cycle and simple production process. It can be used to make water pipelines, gas pipelines, heating pipelines and various kinds of pipeline engineering. With the continuous development of industry and its continuous advancement in technology, the intensity of welded steel pipe applications is also getting higher and higher.
