China’s Hard Alloy Brand Numbers and Uses

China has a rich history of producing hard alloys, which are used in a wide variety of applications and industries. Hard alloys are made up of several metals and other materials, essentially forming a hard layer that can withstand a great deal of pressure, heat, and wear-and-tear.

China’s hard alloys are used for a variety of applications, from aerospace to automotive components, and for energy and other industrial applications. The most common grades of hard alloys are listed below, followed by a brief description of the application and the associated China brand numbers for each alloy.

YG8C: This type of alloy is a high-carbon cobalt-based alloy which is well-known for its wear resistance and offers good machinability. It is mostly used for drilling and cutting tools, as well as components that are used in abrasive environments. YG8C is usually identified by the brand number 8463.

YG6: This type of alloy adds chromium and tungsten to a cobalt-base and has high wear-resistance and strength. It is commonly used to manufacture components that are exposed to high temperatures or unusual stress products. YG6 is usually identified by the brand number 7186.

YG3: This type of alloy is a high-carbon tungsten-cobalt based alloy and is generally regarded as the most wear-resistant hard alloy available. It is often used in automotive parts and components that are exposed to shocks and heavy load. YG3 is usually identified by the brand number 6307.

YG15: This type of alloy is a combination of tungsten, cobalt, and chromium, and is highly corrosion-resistant. It is most commonly used in machining and components exposed to constant vibration and shock loads. YG15 is usually identified by the brand number 6307.

YG11C: This type of alloy is a high-carbon tungsten-nickel-base alloy, and is commonly used in aerospace applications. It is particularly noted for its toughness, strength and wear-resistance, making it an excellent choice for components that require periodic maintenance. YG11C is usually identified by the brand number 8345.

YG13X: This type of alloy is a combination of tungsten, nickel and cobalt, and is often used in high stress components. It is especially resistant to heat, is incredibly durable, and offers good machinability. YG13X is usually identified by the brand number 6826.

China has a plethora of hard alloys that can be used in most applications and industries. Each alloy will provide a slightly different combination of strength, wear-resistance, durability, and machinability, and China’s hard alloy industry is constantly innovating with new materials. As such, the brand numbers listed above are only a sample of what is available in the market, and more can be learned by talking to experts in the industry.
