Yahoo Japan Corporation

Yahoo Japan Corporation is one of the largest internet companies in Japan. It provides a variety of online services, including web search and online retail. Yahoo Japan was founded in 1996 from a joint venture between Japanese technology giant SoftBank and US internet giant Yahoo. The company launched its first search engine in 1997 and today it is the second largest search engine in Japan after Google. In addition to search engine services, Yahoo Japan provides mail and communication services, a large online auction service, and a variety of other web-based services.

Yahoo Japan has a unique corporate structure. The majority shareholder is SoftBank, which owns a total of 35 percent of the companys shares. Yahoo retains 35 percent, while a small number of individual shareholders make up the remaining 30 percent.

The 2010 merger between Yahoo Japan and YJ-KDDI, another large Japanese internet company, created an even larger online powerhouse. The newly merged company, called Yahoo Japan Corporation, provided its services to content creators, merchants, users and businesses throughout Japan. It also provided eCommerce solutions and mobile applications.

The companys services range from search engine optimization, to pay-per-click and display advertising, to online marketing and ecommerce. Yahoo Japan also supports a wide range of Japanese music, video content, and social networking services. Yahoo Japan is one of the most popular websites in Japan, with over 40 million users daily.

Yahoo Japan, like many other internet-based corporations, is active in corporate social responsibility initiatives. The company has established a comprehensive environmental protection policy, ensuring that its services and activities do not negatively impact the environment. It also makes donations to local charities, including education, disaster relief, and healthcare.

Yahoo Japan continues to be a leader in the rapidly changing technology industry in Japan. In addition to continuing to innovate via its current services, the company has invested heavily in research and development of artificial intelligence, robotics, and other technology. It is also actively pursuing the creation of the “Internet of Things,” a term used to describe the idea of connected devices, networks, and services.
