Low Temperature Hardening Technology
Low temperature hardening is an important technology in the hardening and heat treatment of workpieces. It is an important method for improving the structure of workpiece and improving the strength, hardness, and wear resistance of workpiece surface. It has the advantages of fast quenching speed, small deformation and small tempering effect. It is suitable for quenching and tempering of high-alloy steel, difficult-to-machine steel, and high-speed steel.
Low temperature hardening technology is based on the principle of “rapid cooling, slow heating, and reasonable selection of cooling rate”, in order to reduce thermal shock and minimize residual stress. The bottom quenching method is adopted to quickly cool down the workpiece, and the top tempering method is adopted. The cooling rate of tempering reaches the infiltrating area, and further decomposition hardenability. In order to ensure the reflection, the blank needs to be placed in a lower quenching temperature medium.
Low temperature hardening technology is usually used for large and complex parts, difficult parts or parts with high requirements for heat treatment. Compared with other hardening technologies, it has the advantages of low energy consumption, low cost, fast production, and low environmental pollution. The parts produced have high toughness, good plasticity and machinability, and small deformation.
The hardening process of low temperature hardening technology generally has the following steps:
1. Preheating: the workpiece is heated to an appropriate temperature and is uniform and completely heated. If necessary, the support plate is annealed.
2. Rapid cooling: After preheating, the rapid cooling process (also known as quenching) is adopted to quickly reduce the temperature of the workpiece to reach the quenching phase.
3. Tempering: The workpiece is heated to tempering temperature and then cooled rapidly to reduce residual stress.
4. Super-finishing: Surface treatment polishing, super-finishing, etc. are performed to meet the requirements of the parts.
Low temperature hardening technology has a wide range of applications in various industries, such as automobile manufacturing, aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, machinery manufacturing, and various daily necessities manufacturing. Low temperature hardening technology can be used to improve the performance of various parts, so as to meet the requirements of each application environment and increase the service life of various parts.
