The common precision defects of H-beam

H-beam is a kind of steel structure, widely used in many structural engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering projects. Due to its compressive strength, weldability and dynamic load-bearing capacity, it is often used in industrial engineering, such as construction and bridges. However, in the manufacturing process of H-beam, due to the poor control of production technology, there will be some precision defects inevitably, which will bring great impact to the quality of H-beam. The common precision defects of H-beam are as follows:

1、型面变形缺陷

The section deformation defects are caused by improper temperature control in the rolling process. The cooling temperature control of H-beam is too high, and it is cooled too quickly, resulting in uneven or even too thick wall thickness of the web part, affecting the bearing capacity of the H-beam.

2、冷弯缺陷

Cold bending defects are caused by the incorrect operation of bending technology. In the process of H-beam bending, if the process parameters are not used correctly or the operator is careless, the bending angle and bending accuracy of the H-beam will be affected, which will lead to the poor section shape and poor bearing capacity of the H-beam.

3、型缝缺陷

The section seam defect is caused by the phenomenon of sticking between the two parts of the stitched H-beam. When the two parts of the H-beam are stitched together, if the running-in of the stitching seam is not good, the sections of the two parts will stick to each other, which will form the section seam defect and affect the bearing capacity of the H-beam.

4、结合处缺陷

The joint defect is caused by improper welding parameters or waterproof measures. The welded part of the H-beam is the most vulnerable part, if the welding process parameters are not correct, or without insulated measures, the welding part is prone to oxidation and rust, resulting in poor joint strength of H-beam and affecting the bearing capacity.

5、分离缺陷

The separation defect is caused by the improper welding technology. During the welding process, if the operator is careless or the welding parameters are chosen incorrectly, it may cause the H-beam to be separated and deformed, which will greatly reduce its bearing capacity.

6、断路缺陷

The breakage defect is caused by the poor quality of the electrodes or the rust in the welded H-beam cracks. The quality of the electrodes has a great influence on the welding quality of the H-beam. In the process of storage and transport, if the electrodes are prone to rust, the welded H-beam will have cracks, and the bearing capacity of the H-beam will also be seriously affected.

7、脆性缺陷

Brittle defects are caused by the low carbon content of the H-beam material or the improper production process. If the carbon content of the H-beam material is too low, it will lead to insufficient plasticity and high brittleness of the material structure, which will lead to poor bearing capacity of the H-beam.

It can be seen from these common precision defects of H-beam that the production and process control of H-beam is very important. Reasonable operation parameters, knowledgeable personnel and effective waterproof measures can ensure the high-quality production and good process control of the H-beam, which can ensure the bearing capacity of the H-beam is within the normal range.

H-shaped steel is one of the most commonly used steel materials in industrial production, but sometimes processing errors can occur. If a processing error during fine-processing of H-shaped steel is not dealt with appropriately or in time, it can lead to a decrease in the quality of the product. Here are some of the most common defects in fine-processed H-shaped steel:

1. Die hole scratch. This defect is usually caused by mechanical defects of the punch die, which leads to the surface of the steel being scratched during the processing process.

2. Die hole corner wear. This defect is usually caused by the bad shape of the punch die or the improper adjustment of the size. This leads to the corners of the steel becoming dull and inaccurate.

3. Die hole ear. This defect is usually caused by the improper cutting clearance of the punch die, or the premature wear of the die. This leads to the steel having a slanting cut on the end.

4. Incomplete cutting. This defect is usually caused by a clogged punch die or the deflection of the die axle, which leads to gap formation in the steel surface.

5. Die hole width discrepancy. This defect is usually caused by the incorrect selection of the punch die, or the improper cutting clearance of the die. This leads to the width of the processed steel being inaccurate.

6. Die hole roughness. This defect is usually caused by the improper processing of punch die and processing procedures. This leads to the surface of the steel being rough.
