Introduction

45CrNi and 50CrNi are two kinds of commonly used alloy round steel, the mechanical properties and process performance are very stable. In common applications, the silicon content in the two kinds of steels is the same, the carbon content is slightly different, and the manganese content is slightly different. They are mainly used for quenching and tempering and other aspects of performance-related products.

Performance

45CrNi and 50CrNi have certain corrosion resistance, wear resistance and shock absorption performance. They belong to medium carbon quenched and tempered alloy structural steels. They contain a certain amount of alloying elements and are suitable for heat treatment. The tempering temperature can reach 290 ~ 375 ℃. The hardness after quenching and tempering is good and the strength is increased.

45CrNi and 50CrNi are mainly used to manufacture spline shafts, cams, worms, piston pins, claws and other mechanical parts. Its good performance makes it widely used in the industry. The alloying elements play the role of the matrix. The hardenability of 45CrNi and 50CrNi is better than that of carbon steel. Especially 45CrNi has higher strength after quenching and tempering, and 50CrNi has better comprehensive mechanical properties.

45CrNi and 50CrNi are used for a variety of manufacturing processes such as cutting, forging, casting or welding. For example, hot forging or hot upsetting. 45CrNi has the advantages of good cutting performance, large deformation and high fatigue strength; and 50CrNi is suitable for complex and delicate processing, and its mechanical properties are more stable.

Heat treatment

45CrNi and 50CrNi are usually quenched and tempered. Quenching is to heat the steel parts to the austenitizing temperature and then cooling them in the quenching medium. The quenching temperature of 45CrNi is 800~850 ℃, the quenching medium is water, oil or polymer, the tempering temperature is 290~375 ℃, the tempering number is twice, the tempering temperature is 600~700 ℃; the quenching temperature of 50CrNi is 770~820 ℃, the quenching medium is oil or water, the tempering temperature is 320~400 ℃, and the tempering number is twice, the tempering temperature is 600~700 ℃.

Conclusion

45CrNi and 50CrNi are two kinds of high quality alloy round steel, which have certain corrosion resistance, wear resistance and shock resistance. They have better performance than ordinary carbon steel, and are suitable for heat treatment after quenching and tempering. 45CrNi has superior cutting performance characteristics, large deformation and fatigue strength; 50CrNi is suitable for complex and delicate processing, and its mechanical properties are more uniform. The quenching and tempering temperatures should be strictly controlled, and the heat treatment process should be strictly consistent with the requirements.
