The tension of high-speed wire rod rolling mill
Rolling is a process in which the metal is plastically deformed into a new shape by applying compressive forces during the passage through a set of rolls. The accuracy and quality of the rolling products are directly related to the tension of the high-speed wire rod rolling mill, and the tension determines the size and shape accuracy of the rolling products. In order to maintain the tension of wire rod during rolling, a certain level of pull force is required in the width of the roll.
Generally speaking, the more tightly the rolls are squeezed during rolling, the better their performance in the aspect of product accuracy and quality, which is related to the tension of the rolling machine. Too low or too high pull force will cause the roller to stick or cross-fluting. Not enough tension will result in uneven products, which also affects product accuracy and quality; Too much tension may cause the forming pressure to exceed the material elastic limit, resulting in insufficient plastic deformation or even damage to the material.
Therefore, in order to obtain the desired accuracy and quality of the rolling products, it is essential to control the tension of the high-speed wire rod rolling mill at an appropriate level. The tension is generally controlled by adjusting the width of the roller, and the relationship between the tension of the rolling machine and the width of the roller can be expressed by a linear curve (Fig. 1). It can be seen that as the roller width increases, the tension of the rolling machine increases, and when the roller width decreases, the tension of the rolling machine decreases.
Figure 1: Relationship between tension and roller width of high-speed wire rod rolling mill
The tension of the high-speed wire rod rolling mill should be determined according to the performance and characteristics of the material, the width of the nominal rolling piece, and the rolling temperature and speed of the high-speed wire rod mill. The specified pull force can be obtained by adjusting the roller width to the corresponding value, and the adjustment range should not exceed 20% of the set value.
In general, the higher the rolling temperature, the lower the tension required for rolling; the faster the rolling speed, the higher the tension required for rolling. Different types of materials also have different requirements for the tension of the high-speed wire rod rolling mill. Low-carbon steel requires relatively low tension, while stainless steel or alloy steel requires relatively high tension.
In summary, it can be seen that the tension of the high-speed wire rod rolling mill plays a very important role in the accuracy and quality of the rolled products, and is closely related to the width of the roll. In order to obtain the desired accuracy and quality of the rolled products, it is necessary to determine the tension of the rolling machine according to the performance and characteristics of the material, the width of the nominal rolling piece, and the rolling temperature and speed of the high-speed wire rod rolling mill.
