Blanking and Slitting Process Performance Characteristics

The pre-cutting roll is generally used for the top and bottom of the coil. According to its functions, the surface coating of the pre-cutting roll must be tough and wear-resistant. The hardness of a good pre-cutting roll is usually 60~61HRC, which has a good toughness, and can realize a good cutting performance. Generally, high hardness will reduce its toughness but increase its service life. In order to reduce the tool cost and realize the maximization of the profit, the balance of toughness and hardness should be properly considered when designing the pre-cutting roll.
The cut-off roll is usually used in the middle of the roll and its functions are mainly to cut off the blanks. Generally, the cut-off roll is coated with a unique super-hard ultra-uniform coating. The hardness of the coating is 70~73HRC, which is extremely wear-resistant and has a longer service life. Moreover, the special coating of the cut-off roll can realize a good cutting edge and sharpening performance, so that it can cut at a high speed, which significantly improves the working efficiency.
In addition to the above performance characteristics, the important part is the performance of the cutting edge in the blanking and slitting process. The cutting performance of the roll depends on its sharpness, radius shape and other characteristics of the corner. These characteristics of the corner can very well ensure the high quality of the finished product in the whole blanking and slitting process. Generally, the sharpness of the cutting edge of a good pre-cutting roll is R0.25mm and the radius shape is 0.15~0.2mm.
