Design of Hot Rolling H-beam Steel Rolling Workshop

Abstract:

The development of modern industrial technology has enabled the production of steel beams with complex shapes, satisfying customer needs for different sizes and specifications. The hot rolling H-beam steel rolling workshop is a main production line for such a product. This article describes in detail the major components of the hot rolling H-beam steel rolling workshop and the design principles of each component to ensure the smooth operation of the production line.

1 Introduction

H-beam is a kind of steel profile with a shape similar to English letter H. The process of hot rolling H-beam steel rolling workshop is divided into three stages, heating, rolling and cooling process, which require a special design to realize production. Hot rolling H-beam steel rolling workshop is a special line of rolled H-beam steel with a specific cross-sectional shape and size.

2 Main Components and Design Principles of Hot Rolling H-Beam Steel Rolling Workshop

2.1 Heating System

The mission of the heating system of hot rolling H-beam steel rolling workshop is to make the steel material reach appropriate temperature before rolling. This can be accomplished by two heating system: fired furnace and electric furnace.

Fired furnace is a steel material heating device using coal as fuel, using coal combustion and heat transfer principle to heat the steel material.

Electric furnace is a device for heating steel material with the help of electric energy. This device is powered by medium frequency power supply or furnace transformer through electrodes.

The design principles of the heating system are as follows:

1) Optimize the shape of the heating equipment to increase the heating rate and energy utilization rate.

2) Adjust the heating temperature at a suitable level, which should not exceedthe critical temperature so as not to affect the quality of the workpiece.

3) The feed rate should be adjusted in time to increase the utilization rate of the heating device.

2.2 Rolling System

The rolling system is the core unit of hot rolling H-beam steel workshop. The purpose of rolling is to deform the steel material at the appropriate temperature, thereby obtaining the desired cross section, shape and size of the workpiece. There are two commonly used rolling systems, namely two- roller rolling system and multi-roller rolling system. The former is suitable for rolling small-scale profiles, while the latter is suitable for rolling medium and heavy profiles.

The design principles of the rolling system are as follows:

1) The rolling speed and process should be optimized according to the material properties and the required shape of the workpiece.

2) The cylinder and the intermediate shaft of the roller should have sufficient strength and rigidity to ensure stable operation and good wear resistance.

3) The force sensor should have sufficient precision, an acceptable working temperature and a wide range of joints.

4) To ensure good product quality, the number and distance of the rollers must be consistent with the requirements of the workpiece.

5) The lubrication system should be designed to reduce wear and tear of the equipment.

2.3 Cooling System

The role of the cooling system is to cool the workpiece after the hot rolling process, so that the internal stress of the workpiece is eliminated, the workpiece is brought to room temperature, and the desired shape and size of the workpiece can be maintained.

The design principles of the cooling system should be as follows:

1) The cooling source should be selected reasonably according to the thermal capacity of the workpiece.

2) The cooling channel should be designed to be uniform, and the cooling rate of the workpiece should not be too fast.

3) In order to avoid thermal shock and thermal stress, the temperature difference of the surface and the center of the workpiece should be reduced.

3 Conclusion

The hot rolling H-beam steel rolling workshop is an important production line for the production of steel beams with complex shapes. The components of the workshop and the design principles of each component should be optimized in order to ensure the quality of the workpiece and the smooth progress of the production line.
