Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Extruded Profiles
1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles which are produced from aluminum and aluminum alloy billets by cold or hot extrusion.

The following standard acts as a supplementary reference for the application of this standard: GB/T228-1987 Metallic Material Tensile Testing Method.
3 Type and Mark
Type and mark of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be specified before ordering (see Annex A).
4 Materials and Heat Treatment
4.1 Designation and Chemistry Composition
Designation and permissible chemical composition of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be specified before ordering (see Annex B).
4.2 Heat Treatment
Aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be subjected to appropriate heat treatment to meet the specified requirements.
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Dimensions and Tolerances
The dimensions, section sizes and tolerances of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should meet the requirements specified by the manufacturer and should be consistent with the relevant drawings.
5.2 Straightness
Straightness for aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should meet the requirements given in Table 1.

5.3 Surface Quality
The surface quality of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should meet the requirements specified by the Manufacturer and should be consistent with the relevant drawings.
5.4 Residual Stresses
Residual stresses present in aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should meet the requirements given in Table 2.

5.5 Mechanical Properties
Mechanical properties of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should meet the requirements given in Table 3.

6 Test Methods
6.1 Dimensions and Tolerances
The dimensions and tolerances of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be determined in accordance with the manufacturers specified methods.
6.2 Straightness
Straightness for aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be determined by direct measurement.
6.3 Surface Quality
The surface quality of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be determined in accordance with the manufacturers specified methods.
6.4 Residual Stresses
Residual stresses present in aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be determined by instrumented impact tests in accordance with the requirements specified in GB/T 1757-2004.
6.5 Mechanical Properties
Mechanical properties of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be determined by tensile tests in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 228-1987.
7 Inspection Rules
Inspection and acceptance of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should be carried out in accordance with the relevant rules specified by the manufacturer and should be in accordance with the requirements set out in this standard.
8 Marking and Packaging
The marking, packaging and preservation of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles should meet the requirements specified by the manufacturer.
