Classification of Volatile Matter Grade in Coal Quality Indicators
Coal is a widely used energy resource in many countries around the world because of its abundant supply. It must meet certain quality indicators before it can be used in many places. One of the important indicators of coal quality is the volatile matter grade. Volatile matter is one of the most important indicators formulated in coal classification, which provides important information for understanding the combustion behavior of coal and its usage requirements. This article will introduce the classification standards for different volatile matter grades.
The volatile matter grade of coal is determined based on the mass fraction of the volatile matter in coal. According to GB/T213-2008, it is divided into 6 levels: low grade, medium grade, high grade, low medium grade, high medium grade and high grade.
Low level volatile matter grade is classified by the mass fraction of volatile matter in the sample. The classification criteria are as follows: When the mass fraction of liberated volatile matter in the sample is less than or equal to 32.5%, it is classified as low grade.
Medium grade volatile matter grade is classified by the mass fraction of volatile matter in the sample. The classification criteria are as follows: When the mass fraction of liberated volatile matter in the sample is greater than 32.5% and less than or equal to 43.5%, it is classified as medium grade.
High grade volatile matter grade is classified by the mass fraction of volatile matter in the sample. The classification criteria are as follows: When the mass fraction of liberated volatile matter in the sample is greater than 43.5% and less than or equal to 55%, it is classified as high grade.
Low-Medium grade volatile matter grade is classified by the mass fraction of volatile matter in the sample. The classification criteria are as follows: When the mass fraction of liberated volatile matter in the sample is greater than 55% and less than or equal to 67.5%, it is classified as low-medium grade.
High-Medium grade volatile matter grade is classified by the mass fraction of volatile matter in the sample. The classification criteria are as follows: When the mass fraction of liberated volatile matter in the sample is greater than 67.5% and less than or equal to 77.5%, it is classified as high-medium grade.
High grade volatile matter grade is classified by the mass fraction of volatile matter in the sample. The classification criteria are as follows: When the mass fraction of liberated volatile matter in the sample is greater than 77.5%, it is classified as high grade.
The volatile matter grade of coal is an important indicator for the combustion behavior of coal and its usage requirements, therefore the classification for the volatile matter grade plays an important and decisive role in making sure that the coal meets the necessary qualities and requirements for its intended usage. GB/T213-2008 states the classification criteria and standards for different volatile matter grades, clearly and accurately explaining the requirements for the volatile matter grades and allowing the quality of the coal to be measured and compared.
