Introduction

Rolling bearings are rolling elements in rotary shafts or raceways between the rotating and rolling components. Usually, a rolling bearing is composed of an inner ring, an outer ring and a rolling body, which is installed between the two. In addition, rolling bearings must generally be provided with seals on both sides, with lubricants filled in the left and right cavities, and then with cage and other components. Rolling bearings are mainly divided into the following categories: (1) Deep groove ball bearings, (2) Angular contact ball bearings, (3) cylindrical roller bearings, (4) tapered roller bearings and (5) thrust ball bearings.

Rolling bearing performance comparison

When dealing with rolling bearings, it is natural to first think of which type of bearing is suitable for the application in hand.

1. Deep Groove Ball Bearing

Deep groove ball bearings are primarily designed to support axial load and radial load. They are more suitable for higher speed conditions and heavier load carrying capacity due to the deep groove ball shape. Its performance parameters mainly include bearing internal diameter, outer diameter, width, dynamic and static load bearing capacity, allowable speed and service life.

2. Angular Contact Ball Bearing

Angular contact ball bearings are widely used in precision instruments, automobiles and other fields. They have higher precision of contact angle, good rigidity, self-aligning performance and high speed capabilities. Its performance parameters are basically the same as those of deep groove ball bearings, and the service life is longer than that of deep groove ball bearings.

3. Cylindrical Roller Bearing

Cylindrical roller bearings are mostly used in machine tool spindles and other components that require large radial load capacity, high rigidity and low speed. Its performance parameters are mainly bearing internal diameter, outer diameter, width, dynamic and static load bearing capacity, allowable speed and service life.

4. Tapered Roller Bearing

Tapered roller bearings have high radial and axial load carrying capacity, good elasticity and rotation accuracy. They are generally used in automobiles and other applications where the bearing needs to bear large axial and radial loads. Its performance parameters are similar to those of cylindrical roller bearings.

5. Thrust Ball Bearing

Thrust ball bearings are mainly used to support axial loads and are often used in gearboxes, brake systems and other applications where the bearing needs to bear large axial loads. Comparing with the above four kinds of bearings, thrust ball bearings have lower speed, higher accuracy and lower bearing price.

Conclusion

There are five types of rolling bearings, and each type has different performance parameters and application solutions. When selecting the type of bearing, we should consider the load-bearing capacity, allowable speed, size parameters and price of the bearing. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the performance of each type of bearing when making the selection to ensure that the bearing can meet the requirements of the application.
