Mine Hoist Installation
Mine hoists are essential machines in any mine, and they are required to lift ore, personnel and equipment in the mine or to the surface. A perfectly installed and operating hoist can facilitate the efficient operation of a mine and is thus a critical component of the safety and reliability of a mine.
To begin the installation of a mine hoist, start by accurately setting the machine on level ground. Measure the power supply and select an appropriate hoist for the purpose according to the required load and lift capability. The hoist itself must be positioned so it is level with respect to the rails and other hoisting equipment. Start the installation process by installing the frame and any mountings needed for the hoist, ensuring that each part is properly secured.
Second, the components of the hoist should then be connected and tested to make sure they are securely fastened. Check that the drive motor is firmly secured and that the motor performance is properly adjusted for the purpose of the hoist. Once all of the components have been connected, run a test cycle to inspect the function of each component. Make sure the hoisting gears, safety devices, brakes, and other mechanical equipment are correctly adjusted.
Third, attach the cable to the drum of the hoist, loop the drum cable onto the drum in the indicated directions, then finish the installation by tightening the attaching bolts and nuts. After all of these components have been set in place, check the pulleys and idlers, checking the tension of the drum cable. If the tension is too low, adjust the travel motor speed to accommodate the additional tension.
Fourth, connect the brake to the brake drum and test the braking effect. Check the emergency braking effect by applying the emergency brake when hoisting. Ensure the brakes settings are adequate to prevent overloading and that the brake’s action is safe and effective.
Fifth, install the carriages and couplings, make sure that the two sets of rotary pins fit properly when the carriages are placed. After all of the components are correctly fitted, do a final check on the hoist. Measure the momentum and power of the hoisting machine while checking brake application, limiting speed, and other settings. Pay attention to the correction of the parallelism between the power head and the entrance hole of the mine well.
Finally, fill lubricating oil in the lubrication points. Because different machines use different lubricants, the type and dosage must be determined according to the instructions of the machine. After the hoist is installed, operators should check the equipment regularly to ensure its operation is normal.
In conclusion, installing a mine hoist requires a great deal of accuracy and attention to detail. It is important to make sure every component and section of the machine is installed and tested properly. Poorly installed hoists can be dangerous, so making sure the hoist is safely and securely installed is paramount for safe and reliable operation.
