GB/T 4175.2-1984 Zinc-coated steel strap for armored cable

GB/T 4175.2-1984 is a specification developed by the Peoples Republic of China on the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marks of zinc-coated steel strap for armored cable.

This Standard is applicable to the zinc-coated steel strip for armoring and armoring of electrical cables according to GB/T5023.1. Its scope includes the scope of requirements set forth in GB/T4001 and GB/T70. It also includes requirements for product material, appearance, mechanical properties and coating weight.

1. Product materials

1.1 The product material of this code shall comply with the provisions of GB/T1591.

1.2 Hardness

The hardness of cold-drawn steel strip should be less than 30HB.

1.3 Chemical composition

The chemical composition is the same as that of the uncoated steel strip in GB/T1591.

2. Requirement of product appearance

Before zinc coating, the steel strip should have uniform surface, no bubbles, scars, slag, rolling marks and other defects. The edge should be even and the width should be accurate. The surface of the zinc-coated steel strip should be smooth and even; the thickness of the zinc layer should be even and uniform; there should be no breakage, post-welding, corrosion, etc.

3. Mechanical property

2.1 Tensile strength

The tensile strength of zinc-coated steel strip should be greater than 350N/mm2, and the elongation should be greater than 17%.

2.2 Bending test

In the bending test of zinc-coated steel strip, the radius should be greater than 6 times the thickness of steel strip.

4. Coating weight

The coating weight of zinc-coated steel strip should not be less than 120g/m2, and not more than 180g/m2.

5. Test methods

The standard stipulates the test methods of tensile strength, bending performance and coating weight, etc.

6. Inspection rules

The product should be tested with the relevant test methods in this code.

7. Marks

The surface of the steel strip should be clearly marked with the words GB/T 4175.2-1984 Zinc-coated Steel Strip for Armored Cable. The product should also be stamped with manufacturer’s name, trademark, product size and production date.
