Introduction
Nitronic50 steel, also called 00Cr22Ni13Mn5Mo2N, is a kind of austenitic stainless steel. It is often used in various components of high-temperature applications and highly corrosive environments. It contains excellent mechanical properties and a wide range of effective corrosion resistance due to its chromium-nickel-manganese-nitrogen alloy compositions.
Composition of Nitronic50 Steel
Nitronic50 steel is manufactured with an alloy composition containing chromium, nickel, manganese and nitrogen. Typical chemistries of the alloy are listed in table 1.

Applications of Nitronic50 Steel
Nitronic50 steel has excellent corrosion resistance combined with the strength and formability of stainless steel. Due to its superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance properties, Nitronic50 steel is extensively used for valves, fasteners, springs, and pump components that are used in the petrochemical, chemical, energy and marine industries. In addition, these components are often used in high-temperature operating conditions and in highly corrosive environments.
Conclusion
Nitronic50 steel is a low carbon duplex austenitic stainless steel containing chromium, nickel, manganese and nitrogen alloy. This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature strength, making it suitable for a variety of applications, including petrochemical, chemical and marine industries. Nitronic50 steel has excellent mechanical properties and is most resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion and corrosion fatigue. It is also suitable for use in high-temperature operating conditions and highly corrosive environments.
