34CrAlMo5 is a medium carbon alloy steel of the 34CrAlMo family. It is a special steel grade used predominantly in the aircraft and aerospace industries. 34CrAlMo5 can be used for components requiring high strength levels such as blades, rotors, gears and shafts operating at high temperatures. It is mainly employed for parts operating at temperatures up to 600⁰C in medium to heavily loaded structures.

Due to its high chromium content, 34CrAlMo5 has good corrosion resistance in most atmospheres. It is also resistant to oxidation at elevated temperatures. It contains a lower carbon content than its alloy steel counterparts, such as 34CrAlMo6 and 49CrMo4, which makes it ideal for applications that require a degree of strength, but at the same time require tempering to achieve the desired properties.

34CrAlMo5 is suitable for applications in the chemical, pulp and paper and mining industries, as well as for hot forging and open-die forging applications. It can also be used for components with thicker shafts, where creep-resistant characteristics are needed. It is widely used in jet engines and other pieces of aerospace equipment.

Our 34CrAlMo5 is supplied in the condition hardened and tempered and meets AMS 6359 standard for aircraft alloy steel. The improved model of 34CrAlMo5, 34CrAlMo6 replaces the former 34CrAlMo5 model and provides added benefits such as increased strength and improved ductility. In addition, thanks to its superior fatigue strength, 34CrAlMo6 is suitable for applications with dynamic stresses.

Other advantages of 34CrAlMo5 are that it has good machinability and weldability characteristics, together with excellent formability. When compared to other alloys in the same family, 34CrAlMo5 is supplied in a much wider range of geometrical shapes.

34CrAlMo5 is a medium carbon alloy steel that is an important part of the modern aerospace industry. It is primarily used to create components such as blades, rotors, gears and shafts that are exposed to incredibly high temperatures. By offering superior strength and corrosion resistance, as well as good machinability and weldability, 34CrAlMo5 is capable of serving a variety of different industrial applications. Thanks to its diverse properties, 34CrAlMo5 is a key material for creating components for the chemical, pulp and paper, mining and aerospace industries.
