Bermuda Stock Exchange

The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) is a leading offshore exchange for the listing and trading of securities. The BSX is regulated by the Bermuda Monetary Authority and fulfills an important role in the world’s capital markets both as a listing venue for a wide variety of debt and equity securities and as a fully authorized trading venue for those securities. The Exchange is a leader among smaller markets for equity and debt securities, providing public and private issuers with access to international capital markets and increased liquidity for their securities.

The Bermuda Stock Exchange was founded on February 6th, 1989 with the passing of the Securities (Exchanges of Bermuda) Act. The first listed security on the new exchange was Putnam International, a UK-based fund manager, which listed its passive Putnam International Equity Fund, a regulated unit trust. The Exchange presently lists over 900 listed securities, including derivatives, exchange-traded funds, closed-end funds and traditional securities such as bonds, notes and common and major preferred stock.

The BSX plays an increasingly important role in the capital markets with the growing recognition of its listing platform. The BSX is now considered an established onshore market and is fully compliant with the international standards for transparency and public disclosure of information. As such, companies and funds listed on the BSX are able to access both regional and global capital from a wide variety of investors. The Exchange is enjoying increasing success due to its full range of services, which includes the facilitation of all domestic and international market access needs, from both the BSX and international exchanges.

The BSX is also a trading venue for its listed securities, providing investors with a secure, cost-effective way to trade. The Exchange provides direct market access to a number of markets, including the London Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. The BSX also offers electronic trading and a number of advanced order management systems, allowing traders to quickly and easily execute trades.

The Bermuda Stock Exchange has become an important link in the global capital markets, providing issuers with the opportunity to raise capital and investors with the opportunity to invest in a variety of global companies and financial products. This has been achieved through the establishment of a regulatory framework that is suitable for both local and international markets, and by providing a range of services and advanced trading systems that are designed to meet the needs of investors and issuers alike. As such, the BSX is now a well-respected and sought-after listing platform for a variety of securities.
