Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce Steel Trade Association
The Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce Steel Trade Association (SFI&CSTA) is a nonprofit organization formed in 2010 in order to promote the development of the steel industry in China. SFI&CSTA serves as the China representative at the World Steel Public Affairs Council and represents the interests of Chinese steel trading companies, steel producers, and related organizations. The association also liaisons with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Commerce to support the development of the Chinese steel industry.
The mission of SFI&CSTA is to promote the development of the steel industry in China, to increase the efficiency of the sector, to improve the competitiveness of Chinese steel products in the global market, and to foster collaboration and dialog between domestic and international steel trading companies. The association offers a wide range of services to their members, including research and analysis of market conditions, government regulations, industry technology trends, and investment opportunities; technical consulting services; and providing a platform for the exchange of information, best practices, and communication among members.
The SFI&C STHA is committed to making China the largest steel trading center in the world by 2025. To this end, the association provides a variety of services to its members including: market research, specialized training and industry development projects. The organization also lobbies for policies to reduce trade barriers, facilitate market access, and promote joint ventures between industry members.
Furthermore, SFI&CSTA plays an important role in fostering a strong relationship between the steel industry and the greater Chinese economy. The organization works to cultivate knowledge exchange and collaborative efforts between domestic companies and foreign investors. Through their common interests and industry-specific education, they create a more informed, culturally harmonious business environment.
