My Life in the USA

I have always had the dream of living in the USA, and my dream has come true. To be honest, the journey to the U.S. was the great life-changing experience I’ve ever had, as it was full of acts of courage and satisfaction.

It was like diving into the unknown. Propelling forward, taking all the strength I had, pressing, and holding my breath. It was all about convincing myself that I could do this, this great jump into the future.

I began to plant the roots of my dreams – personal, educational, and professional dreams. All at once, in the same place. And although I was familiar with the culture, language and the customs, I was an unexplored terrain. It all felt new, exciting and intimidating at the same time.

So, I took my courage in both hands and went forward. I threw myself into this challenge and began to grow through it. I was surrounded by kind and helpful people, real Americans that embraced my presence, listened and motivated me to keep going.

Before I knew it, I had great life changes and experiences. I was able to earn an associate’s degree from the University of Southern California and learn many practical things in the process. I met my future husband in Los Angeles and got married shortly after, and had a beautiful baby girl a few years later.

But above all, I was able to take advantage of all the different opportunities the USA offered me. I had great jobs, I traveled to incredible places, and I faced my fears. I was able to succeed in a new language and build a completely new life from the one I left behind.

Overall, it was an amazing experience and I can honestly say I am a much better person after that. It taught me to appreciate the art of facing my fears and how to realize the possibilities my life can grant me with the right guidance and motivation. Thanks to the U.S. and its people I was able to make this happen.
