China Building Waterproof Material Industry Association (CBWMIA) is a national non-profit organization established in 1988 to represent the interests of the building waterproof material industry in the Peoples Republic of China. The primary objectives of CBWMIA are to promote technological advancement, foster greater cooperation and collaboration, and ensure a high standard of quality and service to customers.

CBWMIA is a member of CPMIEC, the international professional organisation for the building waterproof material industry, which helps develop and promote the use of best practice and techniques for waterproofing buildings. CBWMIA is also the liaison between the manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of waterproof material, architects, planners and consultants. In addition CBWMIA provides a forum for exchanging information and ideas, discussing industry concerns and principles, and promoting the standardization of building materials and processes.

CBWMIA’s primary mission is to promote the development of waterproof materials and services in the construction industry. To this end, CBWMIAs work involves organising workshops, seminars and lectures; hosting training sessions; carrying out research and development projects, seminars and conferences; and participating in international activities. It is also tasked with the collection and dissemination of information relating to the building waterproof material industry. CBWMIA undertakes the following activities:

1. Promotes the development of waterproof materials industry;

2. Establishes technical standards, codes of practice and regulations;

3. Speeds up development, exchange and transfer of waterproof material technology;

4. Collaborates with related industry organisations both domestically and abroad;

5. Carries out research and development projects;

6. Promotes the interchange of knowledge and experience;

7. Provides training to members for an enhanced professional knowledge and experience;

8. Organises seminars and conferences;

9. Presents awards to outstanding technical and service achievements;

10. Facilitates cooperation between the private sector, government and education sector;

11. Assists in research, information feedback, industry development, product testing and marketing;

12. Protects the professional rights of its members;

13. Implements industry policies and regulations.

The key objectives of CBWMIA are to develop a better understanding of the waterproof material industry, increase the commercial use of waterproof materials and materials, and protect legitimate industry rights and interests. With a strong leadership and a commitment to quality, CBWMIA has quickly established itself as a respected and influential stakeholder in the waterproof material industry in China.
