1.Raw material preheating: The raw materials for thick plate production are subjected to uniaxial preheating in the furnaces. Generally, the preheating temperature is 550-700°C. The purpose of preheating is to reduce the chemical composition and thermal stress of thick plate production.

2.Rolling process: The preheating material enters the rolling mill and is then rolled in the rolling mill. The production of thick plates requires a large linear velocity, and both the roughing and finishing stands are equipped with reversing rolls. During rolling, the thickness of the rolled plate is constantly changing, and the rolling speed at each end of the plate is also different.

3.Cooling and recoiling: After the rolling process, the rolled plate need to be cooled to a temperature suitable for recoiling. During the cooling process, the shape of the rolled plate is maintained by inserting a cooling roller or jigging device, and gradually cooled down to the recoiling temperature.

4.Cutting: After the thick plate has been recoiled, it will then be cut according to customer needs. The cutting process is usually carried out with a shearing machine, and finished products that meet the customers requirements are achieved.
