GB 10571-89 Welded aluminium and alloys pipe

Welded aluminium and alloys pipe is a kind of metal pipe made by welding together longitudinal sections of aluminium or alloys. It is widely used in various fields such as ships, automobiles, aviation, chemicals, petrochemicals and so on. GB 10571-89 specifies the classification, size range, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, sign marking and packaging methods of alloy welded pipes.

Classification

The welded aluminium and alloy pipes are usually divided into two categories according to the material composition: aluminum welded pipes and alloys welded pipes. According to the different mechanical properties of welded pipes, they can be divided into three categories: general welded pipes, heat-treated welded pipes and special welded pipes.

Size range

The size range of welded aluminium and alloy pipes of this standard are as follows:

(1) Outside diameter range φ5~150mm;

(2) Thickness range 0.8~5.5mm.

Technical requirements

(1) Mechanical properties: According to the different categories, the minimum mechanical properties of welded aluminium and alloy pipes should meet the GB/T 8163 requirements.

(2) Workmanship: The surface of the welded aluminium and alloy pipes shall be in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 8432.

(3) Allowable deviation of outer diameter and wall thickness: The allowable deviations of outer diameter and wall thickness of the finished welded aluminium and alloy pipes shall meet the requirements of GB/T 8174.

Test methods

The test methods of welded aluminium and alloy pipe of this standard are as follows:

(1) Mechanical properties test: GB/T 8163;

(2) Impact test: GB/T 13831;

(3) Non-destructive testing: GB/T 2970;

(4) Other tests shall be subject to the determination of supplier and purchaser.

Inspection rules

The inspection rules of welded aluminium and alloy pipe of this standard are as follows:

(1) Quality assurance: The supplier shall deliver the products in strict accordance with the requirements of the contract. If the purchaser has any dissatisfaction, the supplier shall take the initiative to take corrective measures.

(2) Inspection and acceptance: Before inspection and acceptance, the supplier shall present the inspection report of the welded aluminium and alloy pipes and related quality certificates, as well as the manufacturer’s certificate of origin and other relevant certificates to the purchaser. After inspection, the purchaser shall accept or reject the products.

Sign marking and packaging

The sign marking of welded aluminium and alloy pipe of this standard are as follows:

(1) The mark should indicate the nominal diameter, wall thickness, material grade, heat treatment type, manufacturer, etc.

(2) The outer surface of the welded aluminium and alloy pipe shall be marked with the name of the manufacturer and other identification signs.

(3) The inner surface of the pipe shall be marked with the batch number, size and material grade.

For the packaging of welded aluminium and alloy pipe, the supplier shall consult with the purchaser to determine the appropriate packaging. Generally, it should be packed in Iron drums, wooden boxes and other suitable materials. During shipment, necessary anti-corrosion measures should be taken to ensure that the welded aluminium and alloy pipe are in good condition.
