This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packing, transportation and storage of large and medium-sized air separation equipment. This Standard applies to mainly large and medium-sized air separation equipment, including cryogenic rectification (distillation equipment) separators, non-rectification (pressure swing adsorption, membrane and absorption etc.) air separation equipment and expansion turbines etc.

1. Terms and definitions

1.1 Air separation equipment

It means that air passes through air treatment process, separates into oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and other products that are used in industry or life, with the purpose of enrichment or obtaining certain component products.

1.2 Oxygen-enriched air

Xenon and other component contents are not required to be specified in oxygen-enriched air, and the component concentration of oxygen is higher than 21%, excluding the dissolved component concentration.

1.3 Nitrogen-enriched air

Xenon and other component contents are not required to be specified in nitrogen-enriched air, and the component concentration of nitrogen is higher than 80%, excluding the dissolved component concentration.

1.4 Purity

It means the percentage of the single component concentration in the total component concentration of the product gas, excluding the dissolved component concentration, it is expressed by the percentage.

1.5 Enrichment factor

It means the ratio of the single component concentration in the product gas concentration divided by the single component concentration in the feed gas, it is expressed by the number.

1.6 Reflux ratio

It means the ratio of the mass flow of the return product in the stages to the mass flow of the feed gas, it is expressed by the number.

1.7 Air rectification distillation section

This section is the main part of the air rectification distillation equipment, its main purpose is to separate oxygen and nitrogen.

1.8 Pressure swing adsorption section

This section is the main part of the pressure swing adsorption equipment, its main purpose is to separate oxygen and nitrogen.

2. Classification

This standard divides the large and medium-sized air separation equipment into three parts.

2.1 Cryogenic rectification air separation equipment

They are used primary using to separate oxygen and nitrogen by using the differences in gas liquid equilibrium state across the temperature gradient in the long-tube condensation type rectification equipment.

2.2 Non-rectification (pressure swing adsorption, membrane and absorption etc.) air separation equipment

They are used to separate oxygen and nitrogen by using the differenece in equilibrium adsorption and solubility between the two components in a gas in the pressure swing adsorption, membrane and absorption equipment.

2.3 Expansion turbine air separation equipment

They are used to separate oxygen and nitrogen by exploiting the pressure difference between the upper and lower parts of an expansion turbine in the expansion turbine type equipment.

3. Technical requirements
