Since its establishment in 1951, the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society has been committed to keeping pace with the development of the international mechanical engineering sciences and guaranteeing the healthy economic development of mechanical engineering sciences, the improvement of science and technology in the machine building industry, and the advancement of research and development in the application of machines.
The Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society is comprised of more than 1,500 members from all over China and is dedicated to promoting the development of the profession and progress of science and technology in the industry. It provides technical services, professional training, and information exchange for its members and other stakeholders in the industry. It is actively engaged in jointly organizing and hosting international seminars, conferences, workshops and summits and assisting in launching international programs. The society has also conducted research in the study of mechanical engineering, specializing in the design and development, CAD/CAM systems, ergonomics and manufacturing, materials processing and applications and research on nano-technologies and applications.
The Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society has also established collaboration and exchange agreements with various overseas scientific organizations, such as the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFMMSS), the European Society of Mechanical Engineers (ESME), the Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME) and the Taiwan Society of Mechanical Engineers (TSME). Through such activities and agreements, the society actively exchanges and cooperates with foreign mechanical engineering societies, which can enrich its professionals experience, providing learning opportunities for professionals and enhancing the internationalization of mechanical engineering sciences in China.
In recent years, the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society has taken on a wide range of activities to popularize mechanical engineering knowledge to the public. It has published journals related to mechanical engineering, produced promotional materials, and used its high-tech networks to sponsor and hold lectures, seminars and webcasts for professionals and students. It has also organized visits to research institutes and universities as well as to industry sites to take a closer look at the characteristics of mechanical engineering and applications.
All in all, the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society has actively carried a mission within and outside China. It is in its efforts to promote the development of the profession, spur innovation and the popularization of mechanical engineering knowledge that it stands at the vanguard of Chinas advancement in the field of mechanical engineering.
