Welding joints of low alloy steel welding rods are widely used in aircraft manufacturing, ships, chemical industry, power station and various kinds of engineering welding job.

This paper mainly introduces the angles welding performance. In order to ensure the normal welding of low alloy steel welding rod angles weld seam, the welding parameters should be selected reasonably and the welding process should be strictly controlled. The welding parameters of different materials and different welding positions are shown in Table 1.

For low alloy steel materials, under normal circumstances, the inner angle of conventional V-shaped welding seam should be 60°-70°, but for thicker plate (such as more than 20mm plate), the inner angle should as far as possible to be 75°-85°, the inner angle specified for more than 50mm plate should be not more than 87°. The height of the V-shaped welding seam should not exceed the plate thickness.

Different welding procedures can be used for low alloy steel welding rod angles weld seam. For example, surface grooving and butt joint welding, pipe welding and lap joint welding etc. Low alloy steel material with low hardness can use surface grooving and butt joint welding, and the root angle should not be less than 55°.

When using pipe welding, the welding pipe should not be longer than 3mm and should be designed according to the width of the groove, which is 5-15mm. The width of the groove should not be larger than the inside diameter of the welding pipe. The slope should be 6°-8°. For lap joint welding, before welding, the plates should be clean and flush, the maximum tolerance should not exceed 2mm, the angle of the lap should not be smaller than 10°-15°. The angle of the gap should not be greater than 90°.

In control welding process of low alloy steel welding rods angle weld seam, welding current and voltage should be adjusted according to the base material of welding rod and the welding position, weld the weldment successively from two sides towards the center along the weld seam.

At present, the automatic welding process is widely used for the welding of low alloy steel welding rods angles seaming, and the accuracy and efficiency of welding can be effectively improved.The joint gap is usually adjustable, and welding speed is usually adjusted according to welding rod sand base material and welding position, so as to ensure high quality and perfect welding layer.

In summary, the welding of low alloy steel welding rods angles weld seam involves the selection and control of many factors. Only by correctly choosing materials, welding parameters, welding positions and welders craftsmanship, can we ensure satisfactory welding quality.
