Well boring methods are a very important tool for geological engineering. In the process of drilling a geotechnical borehole, nailing and sabbing is a commonly used method, namely nailing and well boring method.

Nailing and well boring method is easy to implement and has low labor intensity, and is suitable for well boring in areas with flat terrain, dense strata and less water infiltration.

Nailing and well boring method includes four basic processes: preparation, boring, well well completion, and test.

The preparation stage includes organizing construction documents and materials, locating construction, selecting the drilling rig and boring tools, installing boring pipes, protecting the well mouth and properly handling the circulating fluid.

Boring includes well boring, well pumping and cleaning. In the process of drilling, a certain type of drilling auger is used to drill one side at a time. After drilling up to a set depth, the whole pipe is lifted slightly and a certain amount of water is injected into the well bottom, and then the soil is sucked out by the centrifugal pump. After cleaning and drying the soil, the next hole is drilled.

When the well boring has been completed, the completion process begins by setting the casing, grouting the well, setting the well screen and drain, and other steps.

The last process is the test, which is to measure and test the physical quantity of the drilled soil and groundwater. It usually includes water level test, falling head test, transmission test, and cone penetration test.

Due to its high efficiency, low cost, environmental protection, and low labor intensity, the nailing and well boring method plays an important role in geotechnical engineering and is widely used in all parts of the world. It is also an indispensable tool for development and utilization of subsurface geotechnical resources.
