Selection of Service Conditions and Environmental Conditions for Bearings
The selection of bearing service conditions and environmental conditions has a very important influence on the performance, service life and reliability of the bearing. Generally speaking, the factors affecting the selection of bearing service conditions and environmental conditions include bearing type and design, bearing size, bearing load, bearing running speed, lubrication type, external interference, etc.
(1) Bearing type and design
The selection of bearing type and design depends on the accuracy required, the form and size of the bearing, the load and speed, the lubrication condition and the composition and design of the bearing. Generally, standard bearings are selected. When the bearing is subjected to heavy loads or high speeds or very low temperatures or contaminated environments, non-standard bearings such as high-precision bearings and high-temperature resistant bearings should be selected.
(2) Size of bearing
The size of the bearing used is determined by the size of the mechanical parts to be matched. The bearing size should be selected according to the load of the bearing. If the bearing load is too small and the size of the parts is fixed, a larger sized bearing should be selected to reduce friction and wear. If the load is too large, a smaller bearing can be used. In most cases, the stroke of the bearing should not exceed 75% of its rated capacity.
(3) Bearing load
A larger bearing with a higher load rating should be selected if the bearing load is high. Where the bearing load changes frequently and is unpredictable, the bearing can be calculated using dynamic load, usually about 1.5 times of the maximum load.
(4) Bearing running speed
The bearing running speed should be selected according to the required bearing speed, the required working conditions, the size of the bearing and the type of bearing. In general, the axial load and radial load should generally not exceed 1/3 of the dynamic load rating of the bearing and the speed should not exceed two-thirds of the full oil speed of the bearing.
(5) Lubrication type
The type of lubrication should be selected according to the bearing type, bearing size, bearing speed, bearing load and working environment. Generally, oil is used for lubrication, but should be selected according to the actual needs.
(6) External interference
External interference factors such as dust, dirt and moisture should also be considered when selecting the bearing service condition and environmental conditions. In dusty or dirty environments, dust-proof and water-proof bearings should be used. Where there is high humidity, water-resistant bearings should be selected.
In summary, the bearing service conditions and environmental conditions should be selected according to the bearing type and design, bearing size, bearing load, bearing speed, lubrication type and external interference. Appropriate selection of bearing service conditions and environmental conditions can help improve the performance, service life and reliability of the bearing.
