GB/T 3524-1992 Hot-rolled Steel Strip for Carbon Structures and Low Alloy Structures

This standard specifies the ordering information, size, shape, weight, technical requirements and test methods for hot-rolled steel, pickling and cold-rolled steel for carbon structures and low alloy structures. This Standard applies to hot-rolled steel strip and cold-rolled steel strip of carbon structure, which are produced by hot-rolling or cold-rolling of steel strip as per GB/T 3 .2/7-19 5 0 and GB/T 4 1 4 3/7-19 9 5.

1. Ordering Information

When ordering, the following information should be indicated in addition to the product marks and package marks specified in other standards:

a) Product name and code, including the standard code;

b) Dimensions;

c) Quantity to be supplied;

d) Quality requirements;

e) Heat treatment method;

f) Delivery date;

g) Routine inspection requirements;

h) Non-standard requirements (if any).

2. Size and shape

The size and shape of the steel products produced according to GB/T3 524/7-19 9 2 are as specified in Table 1. The allowable diameter of the round edge of the steel strip is not greater than 2 mm.

Table 1 Size and Shape of Hot Rolled Steel Strip for Carbon Structures and Low Alloy Structures

3. Weight

The theoretical weight of steel products manufactured according to GB/T 3 5 2 4/7-19 9 2 should be calculated as follows:

Theoretical weight(t/m) = S(mm) × C(%) × 7.85

Where S is the width of the steel strip (mm); C is the weight of the product at the milling point (%).

The nominal weight of the steel products produced according to GB/T 3 5 24/7-19 9 2 is calculated as follows:

Nominal weight(t/m) = S(mm) × C(%)×7.85 + 0.07

Where s is the width of the steel strip (mm); c is the product weight at the milling point (%).

4. Technical Requirements

The chemical compositions, mechanical properties, pickling and cold-rolled properties, and hot-rolled properties for steel products manufactured according to GB/T 3 5 2 4/7-19 9 2 are as specified in Table 2.

Table 2 Chemical Composition, Mechanical Properties, Pickling and Cold Rolling Properties, and Hot Rolling Properties of Hot Rolled Steel Strip for Carbon Structures and Low Alloy Structures

5. Test Methods

The chemical composition of steel products manufactured according to GB/T 3 5 24/7-19 9 2 is tested according to GB/T 441 3. The mechanical properties of steel products manufactured according to GB/T 3 5 24/7-19 9 2 are tested according to GB/T 225. Hot-rolled steel products are tested according to GB/T 708. The flatness testing is performed by arbitrary method according to GB/T 709. The surface quality of steel products manufactured according to GB/T 3 5 2 4/7-19 9 2 is tested according to GB/T 700. Bent edge test is tested according to GB/T 3 6 .8. Pickling property test is conducted according to GB/T 4137 and cold-rolled property test is conducted according to GB/T 16175.

6. Inspection Documents

Inspection documents of steel products manufactured according to GB/T 3 5 24/7-19 9 2 shall include:

a) Product name and standard code;

b) Steel product number and specification;

c) Quantity;

d) product weight;

e) Chemical composition;

f) Mechanical properties;

g) Pickling and cold rolling properties;

h) Hot rolling properties;

i) Routine inspection data;

j) Deviation in inspection data.
