Q235 steel is a steel grade in the Chinese standard GB/T700. Q235 steel is composed of C, Si, Mn, S, P and other elements in small quantities. Q235 is an economical and versatile steel material. It is used for purposes in various industries.

Q235 Steel is widely used in the construction industry. It is used for the manufacture of parts that are used in several applications such as brackets, roads, bridges, and buildings. Q235 steel also can be used with certain applications in the automotive industry. It is used to form parts such as bodies and frames of cars and trucks. It is also used to make parts such as tailgate supports and bumpers.

Q235 is also used in the industrial and commercial production of manufactured goods. It is used to form parts of machines, molds, tools, and other products that are used in the industry. It is also used for the production of pipes and other products for irrigation, sanitation, and drainage systems.

Q235 steel is composed of many elements. Carbon, silicon, manganese, and phosphorus are the main elements. They make up the majority of the composition of the material. Other elements are present in smaller concentrations, such as sulfur, lead, and zinc.

The strength, hardness, and elasticity of Q235 steel vary depending on the proportions of the elements that make up it. It is generally considered to be tougher than other steels and is resistant to cracking, deformation, and abrasion. It is also weldable.

The properties of Q235 can also be improved by heat treatment. The steel is heated and then cooled rapidly to reach the desired properties. This process can be used to create different grades of steel with different properties and characteristics.

The chemical composition of Q235 steel and its mechanical properties are the main factors that affect its performance and long-term durability. The mechanical properties are determined by the addition of element percentages, such as the amount of carbon, silicon, and phosphorus, as well as their effects on the hardness, ductility, and strength of the steel.

Q235 steel is a popular steel grade for many applications. It is used in the construction industry for its durability and strength. It is also used in the automotive industry, for the manufacture of machine parts, and for the production of tools, molds, and pipes for various industries. Its versatility and toughness make it an ideal material for many applications.

EAF35 is a low-carbon ferrochrome steel produced by electric-arc furnace and vacuum degassing process. It has excellent hot workability and heat resistance, and it is also suitable for hot stamping and cold forming.

1. Properties and application

EAF35 steel belongs to high alloy steel with chemical composition of C 0.05%, Si 0.45-1.3%, Mn 0.3-0.6%, P ≤ 0.03%, S ≤ 0.03%, Cr 3.0-3.7%, and Ni 0.30-1.00%. EAF35 steel has higher strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance. This steel is widely used in the production of automobile, aircraft and other parts, as well as some large-scale worked parts requiring superior strength and hardenability.

2. Microstructure

EAF35 steel has three martensite and lath martensite structure. A mixture of ferrite and pearlite is distributed in the martensite and lath martensite structure. The ferrite and pearlite phase form a hard and brittle phase, thus improving the strength, wear resistance and plasticity of the steel.

3. Metallographic structure

The metallographic structure of EAF35 steel mainly includes martensite, bainite, ferrite and pearlite. The martensite is a hard and brittle phase and has high wear resistance. The bainite is a soft phase with low strength and high plasticity. The ferrite has low hardness, good plasticity and low strength. And the pearlite is a combination of ferrite and cementite and has high hardness and good plasticity.

4. Heat treatment

The heat treatment temperature of EAF35 steel is 980 °C-1030 °C, and the effect of heat treatment is the improvement of strength and the guarantee of plasticity. After proper heat treatment, the microstructure can be fully pearlite, which can effectively improve the strength and wear resistance of the steel.

5. Performance of EAF35 steel

The EAF35 steel has good workability, hot strength and heat resistance, so it is suitable for hot stamping and cold forming. This steel has high strength and wear resistance and is suitable for producing automobile, aircraft and other parts. The addition of alloy elements can further improve its performance.
