GB 16164-1996 Small Dissolved Acetylene Cylinders

This General Standard, GB16164-1996, lays down the requirements and test methods for the design and manufacture of small dissolved acetylene cylinders. This regulation applies to the design and manufacture of small dissolved acetylene cylinders whose water capacity does not exceed 40L.

The requirements for small dissolved acetylene cylinders are as follows:

1. Structure: The small dissolved acetylene cylinders shall be equipped with a valve device in accordance with the design and a safety device. The plastic fusible plugs should be installed between the safety device and the internal pressure vessel to prevent overpressure inside the cylinder. The inlet of the valve device is to be equipped with a lid that can be opened during filling.

2. Design: The design of small dissolved acetylene cylinders shall conform to the relevant state regulations and standards, and shall not cause any leakage occurrence nor reduce the tank performance.
