Aluminum steel plate has become an important material in our daily life due to its excellent mechanical properties, durability and low cost. Its use in construction spans from bridges, car bodies, railway cars to machinery, furniture and appliances.

As the demand for aluminum steel plate continues to grow, manufacturers have had to specialize in producing aluminum steel plate of different types. The manufacturing process generally starts with unwinding raw aluminum steel coil into a press form. This is done with a CNC machine that is designed to cut the coils accurately and cleanly.

After cutting, manufacturers then shear the aluminum steel in order to give each one a desired shape. Material for aluminum steel plate is then drilled, formed and heated in order to provide the appropriate shapes, sizes, and chemical compositions necessary for the intended use. The aluminum steel is then cut into specified sizes and thicknesses and then tempered or hardened.

Once the material has been prepared and is ready for coating, manufacturers use a combination of galvanizing, powder coating, and/or anodizing to protect the aluminum steel surface from rust and corrosion. Galvanizing is used for steel and iron surfaces, whereas powder coating is used for aluminium and other non-ferrous materials. Anodizing is used for aluminum steel plate and is a much more efficient way of preventing rust and corrosion.

Surface preparation is an important factor when coating aluminum steel plate. This is because different coatings require different preparation in order to ensure the finish is of the highest quality. Depending on the application, manufacturers might choose to sandblast, degrease, etch, bead blast or phosphatize the surface.

Once the aluminum steel plate has been pre-treated and cleaned, companies can then safely apply their required coating and finish. Companies usually choose between two finish types – electroplating or enamel. Electroplating is a chemical process and offers an extremely accurate and protective finish, whereas enamel is an oven-cured coating that is harder, more durable and can be used for a wide range of applications.

Aluminum steel plate is extremely versatile and durable, allowing manufacturers to offer different types of products to their customers. Because of its relatively low-cost and its excellent properties, aluminum steel plates are becoming increasingly popular in the industrial and commercial world.
