Boiler Steel Plates (GB 713-1997)

Boiler steel plates are steel grades that are primarily used in the fabrication of boilers and pressure vessels. Boiler steel plates, which meet the national standard GB 713-1997, are commonly used in power stations, chemical plants, petrochemical and other industries.

Boiler steel plates are mainly made of carbon structural steels such as Q345R, Q245R, 15CrMoR, 16MnR, and other grade steels such as 15MnV, and 19MnVR. All these steels are mainly supplied in the form of hot-rolled plates with thickness ranging from 2 to 150mm, or cold-rolled or normalized hot-rolled plates with thickness from 2 to 80mm.

Boiler steel plates are mainly used for the fabrication of pressure vessels, steel structures, and other parts for boilers. Boiler steel plates also have certain requirements for mechanical properties, and the most commonly used steel plates for boiler making are P265GH and 19Mn6 pressure vessel steels, which are classified into three grades according to their yield strength, namely impact test grade A, Grade B, and Grade C.

Due to their high rigidity and strength, boiler steel plates are mainly used in large-scale and medium-scale pressure vessels, and the production process requires high dimensional accuracy and mechanical strength.

In order to guarantee the performance and quality of boiler steel plates, they usually have to pass various tests and inspections before they leave the factory. For example, HIC (Holds Impact Test) and SSC (Stress ShiK Cone) are two important test methods used internationally to test the performance and quality of boiler steel plates.

To sum up, boiler steel plates are an important material for the fabrication of boilers, pressure vessels and other parts. The choice of boiler steel plates should be considered according to the purpose, specification, requirements and the like, and should pass the necessary tests and inspections to ensure their quality and performance.
