1 Introduction
GB/T 18363-2001 is a national standard of China, designed to enhance the safety, environmental protection and convenience of compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling. This document establishes the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, storage and transportation of CNG fueling outlets.
2 Scope
This Standard applies to CNG fueling outlets for all series of CNG (including compressed natural gas) motor vehicles. It does not apply to LNG (liquefied natural gas) motor vehicles.
3 Normative References
There are three normative references for this Standard, GB/T 14995 Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Fuel Outlet General Technical Conditions, GB/T 20364 Tensile Test Method for Metallic Materials and GB/T 2410 Baord Size .
4 Classification
CNG fueling outlets are divided into four types according to their shape and structure, as follows:
(1) Helical outlet
(2) Straight outlet
(3) External thread type outlet
(4) Internal thread type outlet
5 Requirements and Test Rules
This section specifies the requirements and test rules for CNG fueling outlets, including the appearance requirements, mechanical properties, leakage and antiseizure performance. The design and construction of the outlet must ensure the safe and reliable service life of 10 years. The properties such as density and flow rate of the fuel must meet the requirements.
(1) Appearance Requirements
The CNG fueling outlets appearance should be smooth, without any defects such as bubbles, cracks, delamination, impurities, etc. The thread should be annular and complete, without any damage.
(2) Mechanical Properties
The mechanical properties of CNG fueling outlets should meet the requirements of GB/T 14:995. Tensile strength and elongation are evaluated by the method of GB/T 20364.
(3) Leakage Performance
The leakage performance should meet the requirements of GB/T 14995.
(4) Abrasive Resistance Performance
The abrasion resistance performance should meet the requirements of GB/T 14995.
(5) Anti-Seizure Performance
The anti-seizure performance should meet the requirements of GB/T 14995.
6 Marking, Packaging, Storage and Transportation
The marking, packaging, storage and transportation requirements for CNG fueling outlets should meet the requirements of GB/T 2410.
