GB/T 14164-1993 Seamless Steel Pipes for Petroleum and Natural Gas Transport Hot Rolling Steel Band

Seamless steel piping for petroleum and natural gas transport hot-rolling steel band (hereinafter referred to as pipelines) is butt welded, hot-rolled and cold-drawn ordinary carbon structural steel pipes. The standard includes two classifications of steel pipes: ordinary grade and high temperature grade steel pipes. The standard stipulates that the nominal diameter of steel pipes shall be within the range from 8.89 mm to 8.39 mm. The maximum allowable deviation of the nominal diameter of steel pipes shall not exceed 8.84 mm. The allowable deviation of the auxiliary size shall meet the requirements of Table 2. In order to ensure the internal and external quality of product, the standard stipulates the permissible values of wall thickness, diameter, section shape and eccentricity of steel pipes in cold-drawn and hot-rolled state.

The physical and mechanical properties and technological requirements of steel pipes shall meet the requirements of GB/T 14164-1993. This standard stipulates the technical conditions and inspection methods of seamless steel pipes for petrochemical industry, which is suitable for petroleum and natural gas transportation. In addition, the standard also stipulates the inspection rules and requirements for the products surface quality and internal and external control. In order to ensure the product meets the requirements of customers, enterprises should strictly implement the standard requirements and follow the inspection rules for complete inspection and testing.

The steel pipe for petroleum and natural gas transport of GB/T 14164-1993 shall be smooth and non-porous, without defects such as large inclusions, pores, slag defects and cracks. The surface quality of steel pipe shall meet the requirements of Class a or Class b. The internal and external control requirements of product shall meet the requirements of Table 3.

The overall performance of GB/T 14164-1993 seamless steel pipe for petroleum and natural gas transport hot-rolling metal band is good, and the application is also very extensive. Enterprises should strictly implement the standardized requirements and inspection rules when producing, inspecting and testing the steel pipes to ensure the product quality meets the requirements of customers, so as to ensure the maximum satisfaction of users.
