Repair Technology of Cast Iron Bearing Seat by Manual Arc Welding
Manual arc welding is necessary for the repair of cast iron bearing seat. There are two types of cast iron: gray cast iron and ductile cast iron. The two types are different in structure and properties. To ensure the quality of the welding, the welding operator must understand the material of the bearing seat, the welding principle and process requirements.
In the actual repair of cast iron bearing seat, manual arc welding should be carried out according to the following steps:
1. Clean up the surfaced rust and oxidation scale of the parts to be repaired. Non-metallic materials such as grease, paint, oxides and other contaminants should be thoroughly cleaned.
2. Determine the welding method and process parameters, which depend on the diameters of the bearing seat and the type of welding material.
3. Prepare the welding material, such as welding rods, welding fluxes and electrodes.
4. During manual arc welding, the welding rods and welding electrodes should be held at the right angle to the surface of the parts so that the power source is not directly pressed against the surface of the parts, thus preventing the heat generated by the electrodes and welding rods from affecting the welding quality.
5. Welding should be controlled within a given temperature range. After welding, it must be heat-treated as required.
6. After welding, the welds should be inspected and tested to verify the strength, porosity and surface quality of the weld.
