GB 4227-84 Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Edge and Corner Profile Steel
GB 4227-84 is a national standard for hot rolled stainless steel edge and corner profile steel. It was introduced by the State Bureau of Standard on October 31, 1984 to improve product quality and ensure the reliability of product performance. The standards original classification was also supplemented, according to the characteristics of stainless steel itself, special requirements were established and improved.
This standard specifies the dimensional requirements, shape requirements, surface quality requirements, tolerance requirements, Bundling requirements and testing methods of the heat-rolled stainless edge and corner profile steel. The standard applies to heat-rolled stainless steel edge and corner profile steel products with an outer diameter below 140mm, especially for socket and spigot fittings and welded pipe joints, shipbuilding and other parts.
The standard divided the heat-rolled stainless steel edge and corner profile steel into four grades, namely A, B, C and D. Grade A is suitable for surface and internal parts of pressure vessels, ships and other connectors, especially those requiring heat and corrosion resistance and high hem or mechanical properties. Grade B is suitable for surface parts and gaskets of pressure vessels and ships. Grade C is suitable for parts requiring better corrosion and heat resistance; Grade D is suitable for general engineering parts, screws and gaskets of pipe connections and so on.
Heat-rolled stainless steel edge and corner profile steel must be strictly tested and inspected by qualified national supervisory organs during production and final inspection. In addition, product quality certificates must be issued and tracked to ensure product quality and reliability.
