The China Ship Agents Association (CSAA) is a national nonprofit industry organization founded in 1986. It was established with the mission of promoting and strengthening the professional capacity of companies in the industry, in order to draw upon the vast resources and wealth of experience of the members for their benefit and for the development of the maritime industry as a whole.
The CSAA has grown significantly over the last decades and now consists of over 220 members from across the industry, including leading shipping lines, government departments and port authorities, research institutes and universities, law firms, insurers, classification societies, engineering firms, brokers, and software companies. It has achieved a reputation as an effective and influential industry body, offering a range of services including training and education programs, guidelines and publications, advice and legal guidance on matters of interest to members, and strong representation at international shipping industry meetings.
The CSAA works to promote the interests of the maritime industry in China, while actively cooperating with authorities and organizations abroad in order to pave the way for better integration of Chinese shipping companies with the global market. It also focuses on advancing the cause of the ship agenting community in the country, and works to ensure that its members are able to enjoy the benefits and protection offered by the regulations and agreements adopted in the international shipping arena.
The CSAA is able to provide member companies with assistance in obtaining license and certification as well as training and advice on shipping-related matters. It also offers educational assistance to professionals looking to further their knowledge and understanding of the industry.
Furthermore, the CSAA aims to expand and develop trade between China and other countries by providing assistance in marketing and networking, as well as actively contributing to the development of international shipping.
The CSAA is accredited by the Maritime Safety Administration and various other organizations throughout the world, and is a signatory to the International Ship Agents Association’s memorandum of understanding.
The CSAA would like to invite all those professionals, companies, research establishments and authorities interested in taking part in the activities of the CSAA to join us in this effort.
