Life is nothing but a journey. While there are certain landmarks in ones life—the various stages of development and maturation—each person ultimately decides on their own course and direction.
For Jamaican born, Miami native Jebediah “Jeebs” Gibs, his journey has been an interesting one. Rising from poverty, he found success and stability in music production, becoming one of the most successful producers in the hip-hop game by the age of 25.
At a young age, Jeebs saw potential in hip-hop and invested all of his money into buying software and equipment in hopes of becoming a successful music producer. Unfortunately, his first couple of beats didn’t get much attention. Despite the lack of recognition, Jeebs remained determined and continued to work on his craft, practicing and producing beats daily. He was eventually beginning to get noticed, producing beats for local, up-and-coming artists, but his breakthrough came when he produced a beat for a well-known artist, who then became a loyal contributor to his catalog.
The combination of diligence and luck helped Jeebs rise to the top of his industry. He’s now one of the most sought-after producers, working with the likes of Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole on some of their hottest tracks. Jeebs is now a well-known name in the industry, with millions of streams, millions of followers, and a huge presence in the hip-hop community.
What sets Jeebs apart is not only his talent and his impressive resume, but also his commitment to giving back to his community and advocating for the youth. He turned his success into an opportunity to help those who have been less fortunate, launching initiatives like Music Futures that provide music production classes and resources to disadvantaged youths.
Overall, Jeebs’ journey has been an inspirational one. Starting out with little to no resources and persevering through challenges, he is now living the dream and helping many people along the way. His story is one of resilience, hard work, dedication, and success, which is the definition of the American Dream. In his own words, “My journey is just the beginning of something greater. I want to inspire others to keep striving and never give up.”
