Electric Shovel Assembly
An electric shovel is a type of machine used in the construction and mining industries. It looks similar to a giant scoop and is used to excavate materials such as ore and coal from the earth. This type of machinery was invented in the late 1800’s and has advanced greatly in the intervening years. Today’s electric shovels are high powered machines which can handle tough digging jobs quickly and efficiently.
In order to construct an electric shovel, there are several steps one must take. First, the frame of the machine must be built, a process which includes welding together metal components. Once the frame has been constructed, the excavating equipment must then be assembled. This includes installing the crane, the control panel, and the buckets and blades that are used to move and cut through the material. After all these components have been assembled, the shovel is then ready for the motor to be added. Motors come in various sizes, depending on the type of material that the shovel is intended to dig, and the power and torque needed for the job.
The next step in the construction process is the installation of the attachment fixtures. This includes the hydraulic cylinders and hoses that are used to power the shovel arm, and the attachments that are used to manipulate how the shovel is used. For example, an attachment might be attached that makes it capable of digging a certain depth, while another attachment allows it to cut through denser material. Other attachments can be added such as trenchers, augers, and drills.
Finally, the electrical systems must be installed. This includes wiring the machine, as well as adding electrical components such as switches, dials, and screens. Once the electrical system is installed, all that is left are the finishing touches. This includes adding decals, painting, and other aesthetic improvements.
Once the electric shovel is completed, it is ready to use. It can then be hauled to the desired location, where it can be put to work excavating the material it was designed for. Electric shovels are incredibly useful machines and can be used to quickly and efficiently dig and move huge amounts of material.
