Uganda is an East African country which lies on the Equator, east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, west of Kenya and south of Sudan. It has a population of 40 million people and is the world’s second most populous landlocked country after Ethiopia. The capital and largest city of Uganda is Kampala, situated on the shores of Lake Victoria in the south-central part of the country.

Uganda is a beautiful country with a vivid and stunningly diverse landscape, ranging from the jungles of the tropical rainforest to the snow-capped peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains. This landscape is bursting with an abundance of wildlife, including lions, elephants, hippos, antelopes and chimpanzees. Its also home to numerous bird species, including the Grey Crowned Crane, the national bird of Uganda.

Agriculture is the mainstay of Ugandas economy, employing two-thirds of the labor force. The country exports products such as coffee, fish, tea, fresh fruits, cut flowers and vegetables. In addition, Uganda has abundant natural resources such as copper, phosphorus, oil and diamonds.

Uganda is predominantly Christian, with Roman Catholicism being the largest religion. In addition, there are also other religious groups such as Muslims, Hindus, Bahai, Sikhs and Buddhists. The official language is English, although Luganda, a major dialect of the Bantu language family, is also widely spoken in the central and western parts.

Uganda has a rich and interesting culture with many social and cultural customs that date back to ancient times. Drumming is an important pastime in Uganda and many different instruments are used to create music. Songs, dance and theater are all highly popular forms of entertainment throughout the country.
